Double-hand Poker is a current game with ancient ancestry. Founded on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American adaptation of poker, Pai Gow poker combines the eastern with the west in a wonderful game for starting players.
Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player against the casino, not like most other poker games that players compete against other gamblers. By betting against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more knowledgeable gamblers taking their $$$$.
A further Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game play, rookies are able to take their time and plan without having to make quick choices.
It is also easier to play for an extended time with just a tiny amount of cash since, to not win, both of your hands has to be lower than each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and a single joker. The gambler is given 7 cards faces showing and the dealer is given 7 cards face down.
A 5 card hand and one 2 card hand need to be put together from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be better than the 2 card hand. To win, a player needs both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
