Mrs. Duke may not have captured her first World Series of Poker Bracelet until 2004 but she remains one of the most powerful poker competitors at the live action matches at The Bellagio in sin city. Annie’s long-overdue WSOP bracelet came with success at the "cast aside game" of Omaha Hi-Lo.

While competitors from the "younger generation" of poker go wild after a big win at the tournament, Annie heads back home and becomes "mom" to her four kids. She was born in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you don’t believe that, check out her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to compete in the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has captured her share of hard tables, including knocking out Howard a few times along the way. They’re both competitors that have the ability to win the large money and do it with a smile.

Mrs. Duke is a strong player at any table because she is a real poker player, but it is a bit more than just being great at the game. Annie is very intelligent and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in English and Psychology.

When you are seated across from her at the table you know Annie is there to compete in the game and she begins "sizing" you up from the time you join the poker table. If you can not wager like a winner, then don’t waste your time.

Winning over 3 million dollars in tournament play, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who was looking to sharpen his skills and develop into a power at the tables.

You might just see her at the Bellagio, you will see her on TV and you may even compete against her in a cyber poker game, but do not anticipate an easy win. Except of course you’re a champion-in-the-making, you won’t beat her. However, it’d be exciting to say you sat at the at the table with "The Duke".
